The IFB (Independent Fashion Bloggers) current challenge for menswear-inspired ensembles had my mind churning, reflecting the various possibilities.  I’m putting together some outfits as we speak/read/chat for said challenge but for now, here are some of my fave picks.

And you thought Phillip Lim couldn’t do romance.  Pshaw.  This is his take on the Biker Jacket.  The somewhat austere lines of the garment contrast beautifully with the fragility of the delicate print.  An investment piece $1,195.

What do you get when you pair durable Canvas with opulent crystals as well as delicate embroidery??  This irrefutably plush Jacket from Biyan with divine oversized poof sleeves and a hint of a boxy line.  Darling!!  An investment indeed $1,562.

Burberry continues to do no wrong, at least not in my eyes.  This fabulous utilitarian Jacket is given a makeover with a ruffled Peplum effect (genius) and zip-fastening pockets (brilliant).  Must-have $650.

Who doesn’t adore a burst of colour onto virginal white?  Chalayan marries the two to effervescent delight in this Tuxedo Jacket.  Fashioned from Cotton-Blend Sateen, the purity of the bodice proffers the perfect backdrop for Neon Mesh Lapels.  Delightful indulgence $2,655.

Clover Canyon’s oh so clever Printed Crepe de Chine Bomber Jacket.  Such a flurry of details and abstract movement captured into one very versatile piece.  Truly affordable too at $275.

The Queen of classics, Donna Karan, does not fail us with this chic Metallic bouclé peplum jacket.  Woven from shimmering ribbons with a silk fringe, this is a statement piece.  Splurge $2,695.

Quintessential Parisian chic describes this Leather Trimmed Tweed Jacket to a tee.  Isabel Marant shows a deft hand in both structure and finish, to create a timeless piece.  A solid investment $1,335.

I love you Dame Westwood!!!  So much going on here in this Anglomania Trot Textured Acid Jacquard Blazer but it works!!!  Sharp shoulders and nipped waist make for a thoroughly empowering silhouette.  Affordably coveted $745.

Sophie Hulme’s Gold-Plated Navy Cotton Military Jacket makes me feel like I’m pulling a Madonna without having to take my clothes off.  I mean, c’mon, look where those Gold-Plated accents are placed ~ insert cheeky grin.  A definite keeper $700.
