Poker Face

Third time in a jumpsuit, I know, right? What were the odds of that happening? Coupled with the fact that these photos were taken so long ago, perhaps two months back?  But I completely forgot I had them stashed away until this morning. And I must admit, I was hunting around (rather desperately, might I add) for some unused outfit images when I found these, lurking tucked away in a corner folder of my Mac. Thank you, blogging gods. Remember that jumpsuit challenge for the Fab 40s?  Well, this was my first option. A sleek, black, strapless tube jumpsuit with smocked bodice. I was all set to parade it but somehow, the entire look just felt way too safe to be a Sheela ensemble so this was shelved for another day. Set aside until today. I went full tilt with the comfy vibe by adding on that blankety-soft plaid cardigan. I think the asymmetrical hemline and fringe trims save it from looking too PJ-esque.  I mean, I hope so. And those mile-high heels too. My …

Graphic Gloriousness

It’s been a while, I know. I haven’t been able to sit down at the laptop and write. My mind has been very distracted by all the health issues that decided to afflict visit me. I suppose that’s understandable but still not an excuse so here I am, back and ready to rock n roll 🙂 And what better for a comeback than strong, graphic lines?  In Black and White, no less. A visual spread of prints. It’s stripes and snakeskin and geometric all rolled into one #ootd, and actually looking quite decent. For the face, I used Too Faced’s Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar with lipstick from Dita Von Teese. I love love love that Derek Lam Snakeskin Clutch. Anyone else notice that I’m holding it back to front in the picture above???  Sigh. Gwen Stefani can do no wrong when it comes to boots, and this pair just happens to be one I reach for quite frequently.  Do you blame me? What about you?  What’s the one item in your closet you reach for …

Polka Dots & A Touch Of Whimsy

Does the sight of polka dots not put a smile on your face? For me, these spotted darlings rank high right alongside carousels, cotton candy and balloons in terms of the happy happy, joy joy factor. Perhaps it’s their uniformed roundness, or the way they look as though they could bounce from corner to corner with adorable accuracy. Or the way they appear rotund and poofy and beyond cute. Whatever it is that elevates their appeal quotient, I love polka dots and would wear them ever so happily, day in day out. I am obviously acting under the influence of polka dots. I cannot be held responsible for my goofiness. No, I have no valid reason to justify my marching. Nor the swinging of my arms. I told you polka dots make me happy. Do they make you happy?
