Keeping It In Clutch Mode: A Giveaway

Once upon a time, clutches and I, we did not get along. There was no connection. No bond. No love. I found them cumbersome and restrictive. They found me far too straitlaced to do them justice and that was perfectly fine by me. I was used to have little shoulder bags that allowed me freedom and range of motion. Call it a byproduct of parenting, if you will. Then my man bought me my very first clutch and I fell head over heels in love. He couldn’t have picked a better first than this glorious piece from Zara (please forgive me for the poor quality of this picture, at the time I was still learning how to use my iPhone as a camera). It spoke to me on every possible level from colour to size to message, and remains a firm fave to this day 🙂 since then, I’ve amassed a few. That (Red) Dress

You know, that piece. The one which makes you feel like a million dollars. That singular garment which makes all things appear possible and within reach. It’s truly amazing the power clothes have on one’s self-esteem, one’s self-confidence. And no matter what anyone says to the contrary, there’s nothing quite like a well-cut piece of clothing to make one feel as though one could rule the world. In this particular instance, my superhero item is this glorious red dress from Amanda Valentine. Which doesn’t need much in terms of accessories.  Perhaps a tribal clutch. Or a pair of killer heels. This red dress makes me feel, well, invincible. And oh so kickass. What’s your superhero piece? My Week On Instagram

Things definitely started on a sweet note with this candy from my childhood.  I was stoked to see that HEB stocks them on a regular basis. Yes, I love spikes.  And studs. When temperatures soar, so too my culinary experiments.  Here’s my Belafonte-inspired Banana Boat Salad. Harking back to those days when I created jewellery.  Asymmetrical earrings were a personal fave particularly when incorporating fabrics and notions. I’m all about tribal motifs for Summer, in loud colours. Finally, I made it pass the 1200 calorie mark.  To understand what a feat this is, you need to know that morning cardio has always been a challenge for me.  The mother of all challenges.  But with my thyroid completely dying on me (thanks, Hashimoto’s), I’ve had to up my cardio just to keep up with things. So yeah, chalking 1500 calories on the treadmill felt phenomenal. The people at Glow Recipe are simply spectacular, and so too the products they carry.  Here’s something nifty, DIY Rubber Masks for the face.  These arrived on Saturday afternoon and I’ll …
