Sue me 😀 (from top to bottom) B&W Silk Chiffon Shift from Luminaa, just an incredible work of art in the form of a Felted Fox de Luxe Scarf from Celapiu, an avant garde Faux Black Leather with Crochet Bag from the talented hands of VandH; and, BE STILL MY BEATING HEART, a visual feast from Nortin, shoe gods from Greece, purveyors of custom-made opulence for the feet. And just so you know, I’m adding all these to my list of I’LL DIE BEFORE I DON’T PURCHASE THESE pieces for 2013. Love, SG
This is the time of the year when many a blogger would post a montage of her (or his) personal favourites spanning 2012. Since I’ve only been at this for a scant two months, I’ve barely sufficient outfit posts to fill up a week let alone encapsulate an entire year SO I’m taking an entirely different route to this. I’m going to feature the outfits I like best from twelve random bloggers. Some are a tad more hyped than the others, and certainly their aesthetics run the gamut but all are irrefutably talented and adventurous and most deserving of limelight. So here we go, in no particular order:- Adeline Rapon pulls off mixed prints with panache which, oftentimes (but not always), only the French can display. Her style is so distinct and whimsical yet not so out there that I can’t imagine myself wearing parts of the outfit, or, the outfit in its entirety, for that matter. And there’s also just a nuance of vintage that makes her fashion compositions so fresh (contradictory, I know). …
Ah, to own even a single item from this week’s Monday Mix. Le sigh. Le sigh of infinite bliss. (left to right, clockwise from top) Alexander McQueen Final Collection Angel Jacket from Shrimpton Couture, Hand-Dyed Silk, Tulle & Leather Poetic Aviator Dress from Lumme Designs, Anne Demeulemeester Black Wedge Ankle Boots, Shrimpton&Marketa Handmade Vintage French Fabric Clutch available here, Hammered Textured Copper Ram Cuff from Hammerhead Designs and Alexander McQueen Enameled Skull Bangle from Net-a-Porter. Love, SG p/s I’m the proud owner of four garments from the genius known as Tiina who’s the brains behind Lumme Designs. pp/s My next buy? That cuff. Oh yeah so don’t try sneaking it away from you. I got mah eye on you.
I can only surmise that eggnog has completely befuddled my senses. What did you binge on at Christmas dinner? Love, SG

Are you calling me fat?
Oy. Have a good one, y’all. Love, SG
A Southern belle I am not, for sure, but dramatic? Absolutely. Delicate? Outwardly, yes. On Saturday, we had the electricians come in to rework the entire wiring of the house which meant (a) no air conditioning during one of the hottest Winter days ever [darn you, erratic Houston weather] AND (b) no way to cook brekker, lunch nor dinner (yay yay yay). My wonderful man asked what I wanted to eat for lunch and, truth be told, I had no idea so my reply was that I’d choose my ensemble first and we’d proceed from there. I chose the prettiest top in my entire closet. It’s a lovely shade of Peach, kinda like sorbet, with delicate, ever so fluttery sleeves. I wore it with a new thrifted hi-low skirt, it’s silk chiffon and is also Peach-esque but creamier and with an underlying hint of Blush. Does that make sense? Pardon the cast. I broke my wrist. Wait, did I forget to blog about that? The belt is of an amazing snakeskin, so too the multi-wrap …
I laughed until I cried. Love, SG p/s I stole this from Eve
So after three long years, I finally made it to the annual Texas Renaissance Festival. This is a series of eight themed weekends beginning from October and culminating with a Celtic Christmas 3-day weekend just around Thanksgiving. It. Is. Massive. Hundreds of costumed performers and close to 400 shops spread across a charming 55-acre village about 1.5 hours from Houston. The drive itself was uneventful, just me and the husband and Eve and her friend Rachel. We got to meander along shaded cobblestone walkways, browsing little shops overflowing with unique arts and crafts, and here’s the kicker, I managed to refrain from buying every single thing in sight!! I limited myself to just two tops, well, one tee and one cardigan. And to sampling some rather delicious fare. Then there was the entertainment 🙂 well, one part of it anyways. Like I said, this place is GINORMOUS. Another act we caught snippets of was Clan Tynker ~ a 5 member performing troupe, all family. We then all tried our hand at archery ~ err, not …
